This EEO Public File Report is filed in compliance with Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of Station(s) 670AM KIRN.

LA Family Housing Employment Fair was held at 7817 N. Lankershim Blvd. North Hollywood, CA 91605 on Friday 8/28/2015.
The event was free and open to both hiring employers and the job seekers to attend. There were 50-60 job seekers and around 10 employers. Effort of this event was to give the participants the opportunity to showcase their companies’ employment opportunities, services, as well as build a partnership that will transcend into a lasting relationship in order to meet the needs of the community. KIRN participated in this job fair in search of full time receptionist.

Los Angeles County Office of Education classic held the 2015 Fall Classic Hiring Spree on October 16th, 2015 at Los Angeles City College located in 855 North Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90029. The purpose of this event was to serve students, support communities, and leading educators in these tough economic situation and the challenges for everyone. Event similar to these will help in the economic recovery. Through the collaborative efforts, Department of Public Social Service is trying to establish a working model to create employment opportunities for a diversified pool of job seekers. KIRN participated in this job fair as we are always in search of new on air talents.

Option #10: Participation in an event or programs sponsored by educational institutions relating to career opportunities in broadcasting;
On Wednesday March 2nd, 2016 USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) on 900 West 34th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90089 invited the Radio Management Panel. The panel included Mary Beth Garber EVP/Marketing Strategy, Katz Radio Group; Krystal Bee on-air personality, Power 106 LA; Dan Kearney SVP/Market Manager CBS radio Los Angeles; Jim Kalmenson President Lotus Communications; LaFern Cusack on-air personality & Sr. Producer ESPN LA Radio/PromaxBDA; Cruz Court from Cruz Show at Power 106 LA.
The radio professionals shared how they engage audiences, the landscape of radio, job opportunities and real world career experiences followed by a Q&A. The panel shared their experience and expertise with the students at USC.

Option #2: Hosting of at least one job fair;
KIRN 670 co-hosted a job fair at Glendale Community College from 10am to 2pm at Plaza Vaquero. This year Glendale Community colleg Annual Job Fair on March 29th, 2016 job Fair was hosted by KIRN 670am in cooperation with KWKW ESPN de Portes 1330am, and Glendale Community College. The employers paid $100 per booth and the payments were made directly to Glendale Community College to cover their cost.
This event was open to public. The job fair was promoted on KIRN air through commercials, live mentions and live interviews. Also KWKW promoted this event on their station. There were 60 employers and approximately 2,000 jobseekers at this event. The attendees consisted of the students and also the general public. KIRN was recruiting for Part Time On Air talent for Music Show; Part Time Board Operator; Part time Copy writer at this Job Fair. Applications were accepted and brief interviews were conducted on site by Alireza Hekmatshoar KIRN’s program who was the hiring manager.

Option #6: participation in job banks, internet programs, and other programs designed to promote outreach generally (i.e., that are not primarily directed to providing notification of specific job vacancies);
KIRN uses California Broadcasters Association, Craigslist, Iranian Hotline, Southern California Broadcasters Association, UCLA Extension, California Lutheran website, KIRN website amongst other job banks and websites, job fairs and resources for all part time and full time positions and vacancies.
KIRN used the job banks for outreach for Full time receptionist; Part time writer and news assistant; Part time on air talent for sports show; Part time writer and announcer for news program.

From August 2015 through July 2016;

Outreaches were done for one full time receptionist and multiple positions for part time on air hosts for show hosts, news, sports, music show, and board operator.

Internet and Job bank postings

Option #10: Participation in an event or programs sponsored by educational institutions relating to career opportunities in broadcasting;

Eagle Rock High School hosted a career/ college fair on Friday April 1st, 2016 from 10am to 1:30pm at 1750 Yosemite Drive, Eagle Rock, CA 90041.
Students from 9th through 12th grade participated in this career fair. They asked about how they can get in to Radio business, what major (s) they need to study in order to get a job in radio. We talked about different parts and departments of the radio (Management, Business office, on air, production, sales and engineering). We discussed for each job what majors would be helpful in getting a job in the radio.
Students asked about salary ranges, possibilities, and where to look for jobs in media. Approximately 500 students participated in Q and A.

Option #7:  Participate in scholarship programs designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting –
The Southern California Broadcasters Association Scholarship Fund (George Nicholaw Radio Broadcasting Award). KIRN participated in evaluation opportunities and help determine the form of outreach to be used each year, KIRN participated in committees evaluating the scholarship program and contributed recommendations for their improvement or redesign, promote broader institutional reach of the scholarship program; offered to meet with or provide station tours to scholarship winners.
KIRN associate participated in above mentioned process and selection of one winner from Pasadena City College in Pasadena, CA. The SCBA Scholarship Awards are managed independently under a separate fund by the California Community Foundation, which administers the program under as a tax exempt status under California law. This particular scholarship award is named after the late George Nicholaw, Southern California Radio Broadcasting legend and former VP/GM of KNX Radio in Los Angeles, who served as the longest running VP/GM during his tenure, of any ALL-News format in the U.S.
The $500 scholarship is offered to deserving college students who have shown a tangible interest in a future career in Radio broadcasting.

Pars Equality Center Job Fair was held at 4954 Van Nuys Blvd. Suite 201 Sherman Oaks, CA 91403 on Wednesday 5/11/2016.
The event was free and open to hiring employers to attend and the Job Seekers. There were 60-70 job seekers and 7 employers. Pars Equality is a nonprofit organization and its effort is to assist the Iranian people in their transition and help them find jobs. This event was to give the employers the opportunity to showcase their companies’ employment opportunities, services, as well as build a partnership that will transcend into a lasting relationship in order to meet the needs of the community. KIRN participated in this job fair in search of three part time positions (music program, board operator, copy writer).

Menu Option #14 Provision of training to management as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination
In lieu of the 2015 Annual Lotus Corporate Management meeting in which the FCC EEO Outreach program and ongoing training preventing discrimination is discussed, a memo regarding EEO Outreach rules, regulations and specific practices was submitted for acknowledgement by station management. The purpose was ensure equal opportunity and nondiscrimination in every aspect of the station employment policy and practice. In the ongoing pursuit to continually and effectively administer the FCC EEO Outreach program it is important to regularly review the 16 Menu Options with the goal of creating recruitment opportunities and to ensure equal opportunity in employment and non-discrimination in all policies and procedures. The station acknowledges it has established, maintains, and carries out a positive continuing agenda of specific practices designed to secure a highly efficient and effective equal opportunity and nondiscrimination program in every aspect of the station employment policy and practice.
