USC Women Soccer team won the NCAA Title Led By Ali Khosroshahin

USC earns first NCAA College Cup title: Marihelen Tomer and Janessa Currier scored as USC beat Florida State 2-0 Sunday in the final of the NCAA Women's College Cup in College Station, Texas.

Ali Khosroshahin made history. He is the first women's soccer coach to win the Division I national title in his first season at a school. Before this year, the Women of Troy (20-3-2) had not advanced past the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Fireworks thundered outside the window after USC stormed back with two second-half goals from Amy Rodriguez to beat the top-seeded UCLA Bruins 2-1.

With the win, the team's first since 1998 against its archrival , the USC Women advanced to Sunday's championship game against Florida State.

"I think UCLA was an exceptional team," Khosroshahin said. "I think they had the better of the game most of it. We were fortunate to finish a couple of opportunities. Kristin Olsen was solid in net and our back line
